Ford engine recall 24V-635 reaches 2021–2022 Bronco and F-150 Raptor

If the campaign shows open, contact a Ford dealer and quote 24V-635. Ask how long the cycle test takes and whether the vehicle needs to be left, because an engine test is not a while-you-wait job.

If the vehicle fails the test and needs an engine, ask about parts lead time and about a loaner or rental while the truck is down. The filing does not spell out those terms, and they vary by dealer and by the manufacturer's current policy, so ask rather than assume. An engine replacement under recall is free; the question is how long you are without the vehicle.

Owners of modified vehicles should say so at the counter. Tunes, intake changes and exhaust work are common on both platforms, and a technician running a diagnostic cycle will want to know what the engine is wearing. The recall covers the factory defect. It does not cover damage from a tune, and an honest description avoids an argument if the test result is borderline.

In the meantime, pay attention to the things an engine tells you before it fails: a new noise under load, a check-engine light, a change in oil consumption. If any of those show up before the appointment, call the dealer and bring it forward. Do not keep driving a truck that has started making a noise it did not make last week on the theory that the test is booked anyway.

Both platforms run through 2026 and this campaign covers two model years on each. Later Broncos and Raptors are outside 24V-635. A VIN check once a season catches any other open campaign at the same time, takes about a minute, and is worth doing before any long trip.
