A 2024 Defender seat-belt recall leads a day otherwise full of 2027 product
Good morning. Start here if you drive one. Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling certain 2024 Land Rover Defender vehicles because the second-row seat belt may be improperly stitched, under NHTSA campaign 26V-615. NHTSA lists the recall as covering the Land Rover Defender for 2024 only. This is not a stop-ride order. Dealers will inspect the second-row seat belt serial number and replace the belt as necessary, free of charge; interim letters telling owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 20, 2026, with more letters once the final remedy is ready. Owners can reach Land Rover customer service at 800-637-6837, and Land Rover's internal number for the recall is D130. If you own one, a belt is what keeps you in the seat when the trail gets rough — treat this as the one item on today's list that is about your machine and not about next year's.
On the product side, the news was almost all 2027. Dirt Wheels reports Honda is bringing back the TRX250X and TRX90X sport ATVs for the 2027 model year. Dirt Bike Magazine reviewed the 2027 Beta 350 two-stroke, which it says gets a lighter piston, new engine cases, a new muffler and revised gearing. On four wheels, Carscoops covered Ford's Bronco RTR adding Lime Green accents and new wheels, and a 2027 Roush Super Duty off-road package with new wheels and improved clearance; Car and Driver detailed Mini's lifted, outdoorsy Countryman "Untamed" trim.
In the industry, UTV Action and Dirt Wheels both report Yamaha Motor and John Deere will collaborate on future side-by-side vehicles, pairing Yamaha's powertrain work with Deere's U.S. manufacturing. Off-Road.com says Milestar debuted its Patagonia M/T Pro tire at the Unreal Adventure endurance event. Off Road Xtreme ran a feature with Trail Hero founder Rich Klein on access, community and charity ahead of Trail Hero Expeditions Season 2. And Powersports Business notes Snow Goer named the Ski-Doo MXZ X-RS 600RR its 2027 Snowmobile of the Year.
Zoom out: Most of October 6 was 2027 model-year reveals and industry deals rather than anything demanding immediate action — the exception is a single seat-belt recall.
